>3rd year Mech Eng
>Got internship at Energy Consultancy company
>Unpaid
>Basically the bosses bitch
>1 and a half hour drive
>mfw
But it's good for my resume guys... r-right?
I know you're trolling, but lmao @ people actually accepting unpaid internships.
>>8815461
How can you accept an unpaid internship in engineering? I could understand biology or chemistry or something, but engineering? You shouldn't ever accept anything that isn't at least $15/hr, or $20 if you're not in the middle of nowhere.
AHAHAHAHA
There are studies that show that unpaid internships dont even increase your job chancse compared to no internships so LMAOING@URLIFE
>>8816458
That's probably due to the kind of students who accept unpaid internships have terrible skills in general, whereas the no-internship group could possibly just have students who were more interested in academics/etc, or didn't know much about internships, yet would've been smart/skilled enough to get them if they had applied.
At least I'm assuming you're thinking of the same study, where they simply looked at the average salary out of those 3 groups. (And even then the unpaid group was higher than the no internship one - just not higher enough to be statistically significant)

It's better than nothing
>>8815461
>Had M.E. degree for almost 2 years now
>No prior work experience
>No connections
>Can't even get a callback
I know my resume is shit, but fuck. All I want is a fucking interview. If I could get them face to face I know I could make an impression.
>>8816458
link to these studies plz so I can have a good reason to deny unpaid internships
>>8815461
>>Unpaid
>1 and a half hour drive
lmao
this will hurt you in the future more than it will help you because future employers will know that you're a doormat.
>>8815461
>third year
>not getting a paid internship which will basically 100% turn into first full time
>Sophomore CS
>got my second internship lined up for this summer
>fucking employmentlets all of you
>>8815461
a-at least you're not a wage slave r-right?
>>8817686
he's just a regular slave. worse even since at least slaves were cared for. he works for absolutely nothing.
I handle about 15 employees and would never hire someone who lacks that much self-respect.
>>8817674
How would they know from your resume that it was unpaid, though? Reputation of the company?
>>8815461
>Unpaid
this basically says to all future employers that you are worth exactly 0$.
>Physics 3rd year
>need research experience for grad app
>unpaid assistant to professor
GOD I FUCKING LOVE STEM
>>8815461
>3rd year Mech Eng
>Avg school
>Internship in California
>35/hr
I hope this makes you feel good about yourself
