>If you go backwards in time, you're still going forward in it

This makes time travel completely possible right?

the human concept of time isn't actually a real thing

its like looking at a mirror and wondering why it doesn't invert top to bottom
>>
The smallest possible discernible event has no duration. It has happened or it has not. These events are either in the past of the future. There is no constant state of all moments. The sequence of events happen in an order. The state of the world triggers the next events, and the next state the following events. Time is the constant flow of indivisible events. The past is gone. Time is not relative. Time can pass even if we don't witness it. Traveling in the speed of light stops the picture we see of outside events, it does not stop the events themselves. It is all a misunderstanding. Time can not be broken.

According to what law?

The state of the world could provide a situation where a person goes back to a previous state, which would be an all new state really, still moving forward.

there are infinite possible pasts that have led to this moment in time. assuming you have no way of controlling which angle you enter the past at, things would be a little different than you remember 10 minutes ago, suspiciously different 10 days ago, significantly different 10 months ago, and wildly different 10 years ago.

as it turns out, it becomes very hard to distinguish whether you've gone back in time or forward after a point.

>there are infinite possible pasts that have led to this moment in time
that statement is completely false
there is only one possible past that has led to this specific moment in time
you can make the argument that certain timelines, while not causally connected, are qualitatively similar, like one where you went to the store yesterday, or one where you go today, but regardless, this afternoon you still have a full jug of milk in your fridge in both timelines. But in each timeline, a plethora of distinct things happened. On your way to the store you inhaled a completely different set of air molecules. You stepped on a completely different set of dirt particles. You may have even purchased a completely different jug of milk, or interacted with a different cashier. The list goes on.

There's no such thing as time. All there is, is the movement of matter.

I think to shore up your statement, although correct in spirit, you should add the following conditions to be strictly correct:
1-) Assuming a universe that works with the precise laws as ours
2-) Assuming a universe with identical "boundary conditions"
>>
Thought experiment:

Take two universes, one like our early universe, and one like our universe later on.

Merge them into a single universe, except for the other one reverse the direction of physics (reverse velocities of all particles, if we were talking about a trivial model of physics? Idk if quantum stuff allows such reversal).

So now we can say theres two humans existing at the same time, experiencing time in the opposite directions, in the same universe, with the same physics as our universe.

If they met up they would both appear to each other as time travelers, and could share observations about each others past, thus changing the subjective 'future' of both.

Objectively, it seems we cannot assign a direction of time in such a situation. What changed was not the "future" (because it is subjective, for both observers), but rather the mathematical structure of this time-ambiguous universe (because the two 'time travelers' interact and these interactions have logical effects).

Im guessing the interaction between the two time travelers would be quite destructive though (because from both travelers perspective, the other guys life depends on miraculous coincidences in the form of apparently reversed physics), and both timelines would turn into some kind of incoherent noise.

wrong. there are absolutely INSANE pasts that could have led to this moment. infinite of them.

you could have a gallon of milk in your fridge yesterday because some robber high on drugs brought it in and left it on accident in there.

infinite pasts, infinite futures, crystallizing a moment at a time, basically according to human behavior.
>>
>>8798694
if a robber high off his ass left a gallon of milk in your fridge then your kitchen floor is dirtier in that timeline

you're probably also missing a television

the universes remain distinct. it's only on the surface that they appear equivalent. if you were some omnipotent god who knew the location and momentum of every particle in the universe then you would be able to tell the difference
>>
Start now at T0. You're personal time is equal to the external time. So PT = T0 and ET = T0. Going back in time places you at PT = T2 and ET = T-1. Time travel is compossible.
