that's like asking a computer if it's processing speed matters. IQ does matter, iq tests are debatable though.

It depends on your criteria for mattering as well. I'm sure it doesn't matter to africans. They seem happy.

IQ was invented as a means to measure retardation, and it does that fairly well. It's also useful for determining mental ability in people around the average, as the test works well there.

For measuring high IQ's 2SD and up, it doesn't really mean much as far as actual intelligence and intellect goes

It matters because it shows definitively that you dont have to be intelligent to thrive in modern society, and therefore modern society is shit.

it's significantly correlated with how well you do in life, especially economically, and someone with an innate (or one which was developed, which would still be shown by an IQ test) capacity for logical reasoning will do much better in the academia than someone who isn't. It doesn't matter if you're one of those brainlets who hasn't achieved anything but you go on and on about your 130.00001 iq and how much better you are than everyone else because of it.
