Hello /sci, i'm going to buy the first calculus book for my son, hes 16 years old, my mind says stewart but my heart says apostol... What book should i buy?
Stewart. and just download it for him illegally and save 166$
anything other than this is a waste of time

A better question is why don't you have a calculus book to hand him? How did you learn it?
>>8766253
you have a book about everything you've ever learned in your life?

Money isn't a problem, the book is $40 here where i live. Thanks for the reply tho.

What level is your son at? If he's very good at math and has been exposed to proof-based texts, give him Apostol. If not, then give him Stewart. If he says it's too hard then he shouldn't be doing calc

Apostol. If he doesn't like it, he and pure math were never meant to be.

Precalculus level, he just finished axler's precalculus book.

Everything I've learned from a book, yes.

Give him Stewart first. Give him Apostol after some time and see which one he likes better

Why do underage always feel the need to pretend they're asking for somebody else who's underage
nobody cares if you're 16 or 29 buddy, it's not relevant. Just ask for a damn calculus book

This, there are no real adults on 4ch
If you do pirate a version, find one that has the formula's on the first page. I downloaded one that didn't have it.

You think a kid is going to read a book that's digital? They're just going to play a video game and alt-tab to the book when dad walks in.
