Everyone has every function, so you could use Ni by focusing on your own gut feeling.
Te is simply looking for the most effective and tested methods - generally INTJs would start from there and slowly improve it by tackling the less effective parts and adding imaginative twists to increase results.

An INTP would instead try to come out with a completely original projects from scratch, which will take a shitload more time and it's a lot more likely an INTJ will do the same by mass editing a premade at the point it's not even recognizable anymore

MBTI is about preference, you could become anything with a lot of dedication, but you will probably stick to your "natural" one most of the times
