Studying can be experience, depending on the field. On a math based, non-memorizing career you almost don't memorize anything, and studying means solving problems, which is some kind of experience.

I taught myself programming and fundamental computer science before I got to college, I think I actually knew less about computer science after I finished college, CS is a fucking joke degree

Id trust someone who has learned and experienced things himself over someone who memorised facts any day
