Doesn't 7 earth sized planets orbiting a star completely destroy established Astrophysical theories on solar system formations?
>>
No, it's a tiny star. Think of it more like a very massive gas giant with satellites.

>The Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope–South (TRAPPIST) is a Belgian optic robotic telescope, situated high in the Chilean mountains at ESO's La Silla Observatory, which came online in 2010. It is named in homage to the Trappist religious order, who are known for brewing the Trappist beer.[1][2]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRAPPIST

That's what happens when subhuman engineers are in charge of naming.

such a shitty name though, jesus christ

>>
So is the whole possibly habitable thing just a big meme?
>>
>>8698970
'possibly habitable' just means two things: 1, it is a rocky planet. 2, it is within the estimated zone that Earth life could survive in.

That's it.
>>
>>8696902
>here's my autistic vision
FTFY
>>
>>8698970
Probably more habitable than Mars.
It's not so much the fact that these planets are there in the "Goldilocks zone" but the fact that "Goldilocks" planets seem to be dime a dozen.
This is pretty much our galactic neighborhood and there they are.

>>
>>8696668
How would it?

The current models suggest that the majority of stars have planets around them... Nothing to say one might have more rocks than gas giants. Hell, there might even be a Firefly style solar system out there, even it'd be a fluke, it wouldn't wreck physics.

Planet formation is random, there use to be 20 planets in our solar system originally.
>>
>>8698970
If a planet has a liquid medium with low density like water then it is very possible for some type of chemical code or RNA to have formed in its liquid surface over the eons overtime becoming more structure advanced life like us. Life doesnt need water, water is just a component for EARTH LIFE.
