I used your advice to get a job and lied/exaggerated my way into a part-time position with an engineering company.
Basically I'd be a technician's assistant and I lied about being able to use LABVIEW, telling them I spent a semester with it. Now they want me to come in to put my information on file tomorrow at 9 am so I can start work, and I might get found out. I didn't think they'd actually call back because I botched the interview.
What do I do? I have another job possibly lined up with a mesh engineering company but that's not guaranteed so I can't listlessly turn these guys down just yet.

Learn LABVIEW

Either learn LABVIEW in a day or say you got a better job offer, because if you get found out then you broke the law.

how is it illegal to say you know a skill if there isn't a certification?

Not him, but I'm not 100% sure this is true.

Awk for instruction on how they want work to be done there. Watch carefully and keep your mouth shut, fill in the gaps at home.

Quit NOW, tell them a better offer came along.
Learn some basic stuff (can't be that hard) and if u will need more advanced stuff tell them it was an introductory class you took. They will either keep you around to learn more or fire your ass
Once you are in, you're in.
Learn on the job.

Get fucked, liar.

Studies have shown that most guys bullshit and lie about their qualifications.
Read a book over the weekend. Say it was a beginner course, as the other sci said.
Life is full of these horrible damned if I do...
Got a job, get a job offer for more money, quit job, new company decides they don't need you: tell you to f'off, it's your problem.
