My best guess would be that it has to do with humans evolving as hunters who chased prey over long distances. Less body hair may have produced an advantage with respect to heat evacuation, meaning that humans could run for longer without overheating. But I dunno, that's just a guess.

That's not a particularly interesting answer insofar as it's vacuous. The question is what is it about these areas being hairy that would cause females to be attracted to them. Your answer is basically saying that these areas are hairy because reasons.

Myself I think it is more insect detection and repulsion, if there is one thing that creeps me out camping in the bush its something crawling into my ass or along my dong. Some people have really hairy ears for maybe the same reason.
