Which major is harder, physics or math?
What if we're talking about graduate degrees?
>>
>>8685541
Neither of those hard. If you want a major that is actually intellectually challenging and stimulating, try Women's Studies. Women are the one thing men will never be able to understand.
>>
>>8685541
What if I'm an Applied Math + Applied Applied Physics double major? Which area of studies do I apply my double applied majors?
>>
>>8685541
why not both at once?
>>
>>8685541
Personally I find math a lot easier. Definition theorem proof. Rinse and repeat.

With physics you have to get the math but also the weird conceptual issues that come with physics. Far far harder.
>>
>>8685547
You don't have to get anything in physics you just parrot what you're taught like a monkey retard. In maths you actually have to have a higher level of consciousness to be able to solve the questions since they require extreme critical thinking skills.
>>
>>8685553
>In maths you actually have to have a higher level of consciousness to be able to solve the questions.
Literally this
>>
>>8685553
>>8685570
>Mathfags actually think this.
I took a module in differentiable manifolds during my masters and still managed to pass without meeting any of the prerequisites. Granted it was only something like 51% (a pass was 50%) but still.

>>8685541
The real answer is that they both have their challenges, in someways physics is easier, in others maths is easier. To argue with is harder is retarded. Although this is /sci/, so we'll argue about it regardless.
>>
>>8685578
>To argue which is harder is retarded
Tell me about it. There is no argument as math is the true intellectuals choice
>>
Undergrad, both are easy
Grad, probably math. Really depends on your thesis topic, you could make either degree hard or easy for yourself
>>
>>8685541
physics in undergrad, math in grad, maybe, but physics definitely is harder in undergrad. undergrad math degree is like a vacation tbqhwy.
>>
>>8685578
>differentiable manifolds
Wow you managed to pass a course in something that is pretty much just a generalization of all the notions you are used to from analytic geometry.

Now go try with something that is actually hard.
>>
>>8685869
Not him, but you would have said that whatever he said you dumb retard.
Say some courses that's actually hard you cocksucker.
>>
>>8685547
"weird conceptual issues" is a strange term for phenomena that literally physically exist in real life which you can actually look at
>>
>>8685884
How about laptown theory? Bet u don't even know what it is brainlet
>>
>>8685545
You have to apply for an Applied Applications Certificate first, bro.
>>
>>8685544
Kekt. Screening this. Thanks anon.
>>
>>8685544
trying to understand women with women studies is like trying to understand physics by studying philosophy

Its only hard when you realize that your romantic views of them are crushed with your understanding
>tfw your 7 year old has a been understanding of derivative properties than multiplication
>>
I've heard physics, especially in graduate, is harder because you have to learn a shit load of math (especially in QFT) but you never actually learn it in a really rigorous way so the deeper understanding of the mathematics is lost. Also the whole "the hard part in physics is setting up the problem, after that it's just math" philosophy has some truth to it I would argue.
>>
Why would you pick a major based solely on rigor? Sounds dumb to me.
>>
>>8687004
what if OP has an equal interest in physics and maths and wants to figure out which of the two will be easier -> leaving him with more free time to masturbate to hentai tentacle porn?
>>
physics, easily
>>
>>8686997
>not learning all the math by your own
Those meme physicists need to die

I have this thing called a life
