Anyone have books similar to [pic related] that they'd recommend? Bonus points if available as ePub/PDF.

Example problems available at theguardian.com/science/series/alex-bellos-monday-puzzle

Apologies if this belongs more in /lit/ than here.

The first square is the odd one out since it is the only figure in that set to have nothing unique to that set.

But by being the only figure in the set that has nothing unique to it, it is unique.

There's no correct answer to OP's pic without first estabilishing what "odd" means, exactly, or equivalently, what's not "odd". Which is why I, personally, dislike these kinds of puzzle.

As for OP: Can't help you with your post, so have a polite sage.

But doesn't that make it unique?

>But by being the only figure in the set that has nothing unique to it, it is unique.
But that uniqueness is categorically different from the uniqueness of the others, which are based on analogous properties. It's meta-unique.

Every figure has 3 descriptors except for one.
Red/edge/large square
Red/large square
Red/largue circle/edge
Blue/largue square/edge
Red/small square/edge

Therefore: it's the second one.

They're all kinda large except for the last one, therefore it's the last one.

Red/edge/large square
Red/no edge/large square
Red/largue circle/edge
Blue/largue square/edge
Red/small square/edge

Useless books for game boys.
Go to the self-help section and get books on "thinking."

>Let's attribute a property to something it doesn't have!
>Red square isn't yellow, isn't an octagonal and isn't a table either!

The second one
Cause unlike the others it does not have thick black border around it.
>>
Try Martin Gardner's puzzles, they are somewhat mathematical while most of these "logical puzzples" are just pure memes

Size
Color
Shape
Border

Only the first one does not have anything unique about it. It is therefore the odd one out.
