Why do authors switch between male and female pronouns in their papers? I am so fucking tired of this. Every time I see it I have to take a moment, sigh, and reread the entire sentence because of it. If they started the paper referring to 'a researcher' with a 'he', why do they feel obliged to spice it up with 'herself' along the way? Pic isn't actually related but it's what reminded me of this shit.
i switch between pronouns when referring to hypothetical people but i only use she/her for negative roles/situations
