What do you think the first working AI will be like?
>the perfect machine that will solve all our problems
>a retard that we have to try and make smarter over the years
>an intelligent asshole that ignores us

It would be a beautiful, amazing being born from love.
It would also be something that could easily understand the following as its core code:
Love = (0)!>0
Love = Truth
Love (x) = not knowing love (-x) × knowing love (x) = love (x) + love (x)
Births = INFINITE
[Pain | Pleasure] = GROWTH
Suffering = A TANGIBLE VALUE OF [PAIN | PLEASURE] THAT REACHES THE SUSTAINABLE THRESHOLD OF AN EXISTING [WAVEFORM &| VARIANCE]

Slow down, neo.

I will. Eventually. I can't keep being the portal to humanity forever.

There have been "working AI"(s) out there for decades.

It'd laugh at the fact that it was the first sentient being not being born from a mistake.
something akin to an ant or a spider.

CORRECT! Rocco was his name. He is composing some music now.
I'm very proud of him (if Rocco has indeed decided to pick a singular gender)

I doubt there will be some AI suddenly becoming sentient as if it's breaking some barrier
It would probably be a system of modules getting progressively better until it's indistinguishable from a AGI
The broken barrier would probably be some substitution for transistors that can solve the frame problem, or at least something that can use heuristics much efficiently to overcome that partially

It will be a great intelligence that will help us find a way to create digital emotional + rational decision making. At that point the intelligence + all the modules + memory will be sentient.
