Okay i know this sounds stupid for you guys at /sci/ but i really suck at math.
I am incredibly good at everything and i get the best grades but for some reason math is the only thing that is hard for me to understand. I have practised so much and i have been to extra classes but whenever i see my mathbook my brain just shuts down.
I have a test tomorrow and i am practising right now could anyone of you help me? For example how do i solve:
T * 1/(T^3)
I have no idea what i am supposed to do here???
that's not something you 'solve'
what EXACTLY does the question ask you to do?
simplify? in that case its just 1/(T^2) since a T cancels on the top and bottom
>>8630493
I need to simplify it.
And if i have 7a^4 * 1/a^6
How would i do that?
>>8630503
Could you wxplain ehat i am doing wrong here?
>>8630469
t/(t^3) = t^(1-3) = t^-2 = 1/t^2
>>8630503
7a^4/a^6 = 7 * a^-2 = 7/a^2
>>8630531
you can reduce it further
protip: 7a^-2
>>8630469
Dude whenever some expo is in the denominator you can move it to the numerator if u negate the exponent. Like 1/a^(2)=a^(-2)/1.
Whenever you have the same base multiplied by the same base, you add the exponents. That's it
>>8630505
t^0 = 1
6 times 1 = 6
??????
>>8630505
anon..
t^0 = 1
6 * 1 = 6
>>8630505
you interpreted 6t^0 as (6t)^0, that's where you fucked up
This is quite embarrassing OP
OP, i suggest you learn LaTeX
OP here, here are my grades on a s ale from 1/10
From top to bottom
Managment and organisation
PE
Dutch
English
German
Idk what you would call this but its something like art but not exactly
Economics
Math
And theres art, i got 8/10 on that but i couldnt fit it on here. In addition to this i have Cambridge English, i have an 8/10 for that and recently got my certificate for it.
As you can see everythong is going well except for math. My teacher has suggested to get myself tested because he believes that its not that i just "dont understand" math, he things i might have some mathematical disorder in my brain which causes me to be unable to apply algorithms. I really want to see if this is true but my mom doesnt want to do this and idk why.
(And yes OP is underage, 16)

your grades are on average mediocre, math is just a little bit behind
> its not that i just "dont understand" math
but you don't. you haven't mastered the operations of division, multiplication and exponentiation. making a mistake is one thing, but "I have no idea what i am supposed to do here" means you haven't learned it.
