Does the Earth's tilt change throughout the year or is it constantly titled in one direction?
>>
It's constantly tilted in the same direction, as shown in your picture, hence the seasons. There's some drift over hundreds and thousands of years.

and some weird wobble

Which direction?
Is the earth pointing towards something?

Did aliens leave us a giant clue in what direction we should be going?
>>
I think the wobble takes some 250,000 years to spin?
>>
what are we gonna do when we tidal lock? wouldn't we be scorched to death on one side?

The moon might break apart before that happens, but otherwise, yes.

Thanks moon and jupiter

Why would it break apart? It is well beyond the Roche limit.

We might never tidally lock if the oceans boil away. But if we do, it will be a tidal lock with the moon, not the sun. And it is estimated to happen on a similar time scale to that of the sun's expansion. So the earth is likely to get scorched but not due to tidal locking

That depends on what you mean by "constantly."
Always in motion, the future is.

So... over the course of a year, yes, the axis of the Earth's spin is always pointing towards the celestial poles. Well... by definition it always will, but I mean the same spot among the "fixed' stars. The north celestial pole is very near Polaris, so-named for obvious reasons.

But the Earth's axis does "precess" around the ecliptic poles. This is where the perpendicular to the plane of the Earth's orbit points. This point lies in Draco, 23.5° thataway (it's all south fro the pole).

Anyway, like a top spinning, the Earths axis precesses once every 25,600 years. A direct result of this is the "shift" in astrological signs, now about one sign off, having been established during the days of Rome.

Make sense?

>which direction

23 degrees off the plane of the orbit, not it's not pointing at anything in particular.

If you're in the northern hemisphere, Polaris currently happens to be in the direction it's pointing at, which is helpful if you're an old timey sailor. No. Aliens did not tilt the earth.

Or an astronomer setting up your equatorial mounted telescope.

The Moon won't break up, but it will have migrated further away in its orbit, to the point where a month would be ~40 days.

The Earth won't tidally lock with the Moon because the primary driving force for that is the oceans and they almost certainly would've boiled off by the Sun getting older.
>>
>Earth's tilt change
yes, but slowly
precession + wobble
