How likely are we to see an AI "end of work" type scenario within this century? Or is it all just a meme?

Incredibly likely

will i go to jail if i break a non-disclosure agreement?

Only if they find out you broke it.
>I just finished watching westworld guys
this has more to do with government and politics.
Only one way to know for sure: wait and see.
Even if not, I can't think of another reason why we toiled for millennia, other than to see ourselves one day in the distant future liberated from toil. The pattern is pretty clear:
>end of slavery
>end of child labor
>end of hard labor for the majority
There is only one direction this can go in, and if it doesn't reach its zenith tomorrow, it will another day.

it's as likely as flying cars ever becoming widely available, the singularity happening, space elevators being built, faster than light travel being acheived, fusion being a viable energy source or colonies on mars being built.

If we ever create a general intelligence that is smarter than us, our end is probably just a matter of time. It could take days, or it could take millenias, but it will definetely happen. I could see mankind controlling it for some time, but not indefinetely.
I said only probably, because there is a chance some human communities are kept alive like zoo animals.

But anon, we already are.
