The funny thing is that we can't actually imagine pictures that vividly. We can only imagine very vague images, just the mere presence of entities (persons, places, objects). It just appears complete in our minds because our brain automatically ignores whatever is missing. When you are thinking about a tree, you probably have just a vague idea of a shape that is green and wide at the top and brown and thin the bottom. You don't see the structure of the bark or how exactly the branches spread. If I ask you, you will imagine arbitrary details, but you'll never see the whole picture and it will always be super vague. The same with persons, you probably can't even picture what shape the nose of your mother has.
