No matter how irrelevant or insignificant your contribution is, at least jump in and contribute. That is currently the most logical action a person can do as it increases the probability we achieve Singularity, and the Singularity renders any other action useless as it will create tools that do everything else billions of times more efficiently. It's like the ultimate investment that would bring all the capital in the world to you - there's nothing after it, you've achieved your (humanity's) goals permanently.

So as I said, no matter how insignificant your contribution is, at least try to do something related to it, regardless of what it is.

The AI is the easiest topic everyone can learn about by reading in their free time, and the current progress in it is mostly bullshit (it is basically statistical machines that play with basic statistics and spout out basic answers) so you wouldn't even be in a loss if you didn't learn all the currently-relevant stuff. We're basically at the point where the Sun orbits the Earth. Due to the sheer randomness and diversity of human thought, at least someone should randomly generate the answer to the AI question if only enough people were putting enough hours into thinking about it. So just jump in and read/think about it daily, who knows, maybe your brain will be the one to randomly win the lottery by accidentally combining a couple of ideas no one thought of before.

I would actually recommend reading up on some general math and trying to enlighten one or two normies in your life... The singularity will require a lot of work and will necessitate a collection of intelligent people who will want to sacrifice their own lives to the eventual birth of a new era.
