I'm not even memeing, are you actually saying that I could eat 1500 calories worth of candy a day and I would lose body fat? Where's the proof of that?
it's bro science
go eat 2000 calories a day of ice cream for a month and have your friend eat 2000 calories a day of beef and compare results

This guy ate nothing but junk food for 30 days while counting calories and lost 11 pounds/2% bodyfat

You're not memeing but you're asking for scientific proof without wanting to hear scientific proof. Leave /sci/ and go suck a priest's dick or something, you'll fit right in.

>you would literally lose weight though it being horribly fucking unhealthy and frankly killing you
>fucking unhealthy and frankly killing you
>killing you
so u b sayin' nutrition is complex and calories in/calories out is reductionist nonsense n SHIET?

>Post scientific proof that the "calories in/calories out" meme works
not possible
>implying that energy from oxidation = energy from metabolic processes
this whole calorie Kcalorie thing is a bad meme from primitive science.
the amount of energy in food as determined by burning it (look up how they determine calorie content) is an over-simplification of the amount of energy available. The metabolic processes that produce energy for us animacules do obey the laws of thermogodamics but they one heck of a lot more complicated and convoluted than mere oxidation. this leads to the problem OP points out;
the amount of calories I eat does not seem to equate to the work vs. weight gain equation

So how do I lose weight then?
>>8494075
decrease intake
increase work output
>>8494075
look into keto diet
>>8494063
Nutrition is complex
Losing weight is not
>>8494149
go back to /fit/

>decrease intake
So count calories then?
