Why do cats hiss when the're scared, yawn when they are bored, scream when they get angry, meow when worry, but they don't ever laugh or manifest the things they find funny with a sound?
Do they just not find things funny ?

Cats are natural born autists, I don't think they have a sense of humour.

The emotional spectrum of cats goes from "not annoyed" to "very annoyed" and that's it.

Humans also laugh when they are nervous.

Humor is just a primate thing as far as I'm aware.

The concept of humor and laughter for all that we know are only a primates thing.
Cats like to play with things, so they sort of have a concept of funny.
It's not humor in the human sense of the word, it's more like being entertained for example by a toy.
For the record they don't make all those sounds in nature, and meowing isn't necessarily a sign of being worried actually it can have almost any meaning, but good luck at understanding which is it.
Cats meow a lot to us because they grew up listening to us constantly speaking to them, and they try to imitate us.
Only domestic cats do that.
Cats have a great sense of humor, they just don't outwardly express whether or not they find something funny. They're kinda like Brits when it comes to humor, very dry about it.

Hissing imitates snakes. It's a good defense mechanism because it relies on the fact that most animals are just naturally freaked out by the sound of snakes. They're basically saying "fuck off" when they do that.
>his cat doesn't laugh
What a cheerless home you must live in.

holy shit is this true? that would be sick

I wouldn't say they try to imitate us. They just learn very quickly that we do react to them meowing, so they do it very often, especially when they want something from us. It's absolutely true that this is only found in domesticated cats. Wild cats just shut the fuck up when they are grown up.
Cats are emotionless psychopathic vermin.

Must be amazing for animals to live in a human household and hear tem babble unfathomably all the fucking time. At first it must captivate their interest, but there must be times when they think "jesus christ, why don't they stay quiet for a second"
