Any /sci/ approved movies?
Pic related is total pop-sci, but it's actually a really good thriller.

Can we include TV programmes? If so, Hawaii Five-0, mindlessly entertaining, a great break from studying.

Came here specifically to post this.
Shane Carruth's other movie is also fucking phenomenal, though a lot less science related (albeit Primer is more philosophy than science).

The Imitation Game was pretty good and I feel like most of /sci/ could relate to how absolutely fucking autistic Turing was.

Spectacular movie, but it was actually pretty historically inaccurate.

I hated how they tried to turn the point of the movie into his faggotry in the last 10 mins, rather than the team cracking the fucking Enigma thus probably gaining an upper hand that most likely won the second world fucking war

Ex Machina
Particle Fever (documentary about CERN)
The Man Who Knew Infinity

It's about writing focus. The focus of the movie wasn't on cracking Enigma, it was Turing's life (which codebreaking played a big part in, sure). However, when it comes to PERSONAL narrative, chemical castration by government is a little bigger than cracking the Enigma.

This is a great movie. Definitely requires a few watches to piece together but it's really well thought out and intriguing.

I had a good time with Particle Fever, I agree that it's a good pick.

I hate Turing for giving me [math]M = ( Q , q_0 , \Sigma , \Gamma , b, \delta , F )[/math]
