Why are diamonds the hardest metal? Couldn't scientists make them harder by just putting more atoms in them?
Diamond is a tetrahedral arrangement of carbon atoms. So could we make diamond stronger if we made it a hexahedral, octahedral, or decahedral instead?

It's a bit counter-intuitive but increasing the density of a metallic complex actually increases the electrical impedance and thus makes it less conductive. Conductance doesn't scale linearly with density and will only increase to a point after which it begins to drop. This happens because as you add metal atoms the conduction channels between them for electrons to flow through become more and more narrow restricting the maximum current that can flow through the entire metallic complex. If you could make a metal infinitely dense it would have an infinite resistance because there would be no conduction channels to allow electron flow.
