Why do people treat science like a religion?
The point of science is to allow empirical observation to inform your ideas, yet I talk to lots of people who hold "science" as some infallible divine mandate while rejecting empiricism.
I feel that science has become trendy and people who don't understand the basic premise of the scientific method just want to use an appeal to authority to justify their own opinions.
lol do you have a peer reviewd study to back ur claims? no? well uhmm sorry hehe well then uwrong
Science has done more for the world than religion ever has. I'd rather pray to a textbook than some deity.

How long will it take before OP reveals it?

I think back to the guy who said
>I wanted the lifestyle before the degree and I got both
(there referring to a PhD in pure mathematics)
and then rephrase it slightly to
>I wanted the smug feeling of superiority before the hardwork and got just some upvotes on reddit
That is all there is. People looking for reasons to feel superior while doing nothing. This is painfully obvious to me. I've been an atheist for years and it all started with real scientists like thunderfoot but then people started using the science fantasy as justification to everything
>Science has proven that there is a soul!
>Lol I am not religious... BUT SPIRITUAL
>Social justice is great because SCIENCE SUPPORTS IT
God damn. I think we should start over. We should pass a law that says that if you talk about a subject you don't have a PhD in you get shot.
