how did you master control engineering? your own project? books? any tips?
Our automation teacher who had worked in the industry recommended Ogata's book: Modern Control Engineering.

And? Was it good?

It's alright, but kind of heavy reading (at least for me it was) and I had to look for applied (dumbed down) examples elsewhere. The book is heavily referenced so I guess that's something. You can probably find it for free to download on the Internet and see for yourself, but I don't recommend doing so because that is illegal.
Lots of practice and reading a lot. Ogata it's a good book to read also. It's hard to read but worth it.
How advanced do you want it? Dorf and Bishop is a nicely written broad introduction to the field.
Any ideas for a small project? Without spending too much money on sensors/other stuff
Just use your intuition .
If you can't guess what the form of the control should be then you should drop out, brainlet.
