What do you guys think about marihoochy?
Is it fine in moderation? Or does moderation not exist in this scenario? Does any use make you dumber, or only after extensive use as your brain becomes more attuned with being high than being sober?

I find it difficult to concetrate on a mathematical equation while high, while I excell at musical and other artistic tasks.
I think it's hard to say whether it makes you dumber or smarter. It's just a drug.
After going through periods of complete sobriety, and getting baked every day throughout my college career I can say this:
Weed is amazing for reflection on things you already know. It's great to get a second insight on things you've learned, and to think about these things from a different perspective.
But weed also definitely slows down your ability to learn new things. It also messes with your ability to actually perform work.

It will literally give you acute brain damage. Regular use will give you chronic brain damage.

If you learn new things high you may remember them better when high. It sure makes things more interesting but the problem comes when nothing is interesting unless you are high as all chronics know and feel eventually.
All in all a great drug but like all drugs moderation is probably key. Not addictive and removes gunk from lungs. Also if you get paranoid high it probably just means there is some cognitive dissonance in your life which needs addressing. Doubt it makes people "dumber" but possibly brings out the common trait in all apes over time, laziness.

Not him but:

However, it's from Japan where the state is doing anything against this drug. Who knows if they are involved somehow in the study.
From personal experience: It makes me lazy the next day but I haven't noticed any other disadvantage so far.

I voted for legalization in CO. Personally don't care if you or anyone else tokes up, but you should be aware that there are potential side effects, especially for STEM.

I avoid it because it triggered a mental health episode i'd much like to not repeat/exacerbate
I think it depends on the individual more than anything. Some people are positively affected, some negative, some mixed.

Research on marijuana is really bad right now.
We don't have many studies, and most of them are poorly done.
Current research has failed to find the health benefits previous "studies" claimed.
Further, there are some recent studies which suggest damaging effects.
However, we just don't know enough yet. No one here can tell you if it's ok in moderation or not. We don't know. Your best bet is to use it seldom if at all until the literature builds.

Nature usually is though. And what about that poor fag on reddit?
Anecdotal evidence:
All the smartest people I know smoke hella weed and have done so for years. It's preferable to alcohol which literally drops your IQ by a fraction of a point every time your fucked up.
By inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, you can prevent the memory loss associated with getting high. I supplement with panax ginseng, it's a natural COX-2 suppressing agent and it's been working out well for me so far.
