Math Textbook Thread.
So these are the Analysis textbooks that I got from the /sci/ textbook collection.
Recommend your best Real Analysis textbooks and state why you think they're so great.
From light reading it seems that Terence Tao's the most rigorous of all but it doesn't seem appropriate for a regular Real Analysis class.

Forgot to mention that any other math textbook discussion is welcome.

How many other math subjects have you studied?

First year math student. Analysis and Linear Algebra are my first experience dealing with rigorous math.
thinking of reading Tao's
what is a good other book to supplement with exercises, etc?

Aren't the ones in the textbook enough?
>>8442972
tao doesnt give exercises

Pugh's my favorite
Can anyone take a quick look at Jim Hefferon's Linear Algebra and tell me what they think of it and if there are better alternatives? http://joshua.smcvt.edu/linearalgebra/book.pdf

Useless endeavor. Waste of time.
Choose a book and do the exercise.

Kosmala's "friendly" introduction to analysis
rudin
the way of analysis
krantz
I hate apostool

i heard this book is good for self learning rather than baby rudin, thoughts?

Is there a consensus on the best analysis book(s) for someone with math up to ODEs and LA ?

128 pages on the real numbers, i dont think i could bear it
its in libgen tho
You textbook farming brainlets like the idea of learning more than you do actually learning. That actually seems to apply to a lot of /sci/.
There isn't a single use in the world for 5 different analysis books. Having all the big names sounds cool now but you're never going to have enough time to work through more than 2 of them, nor should you ever feel the need to.

I am jealous about mass downloading books from library genesis? kek
>>8444622
I can already imagine the stupid little smirk on you had on your face as you skimmed through all those books you're not going to ever work through.
Don't feed your ego, buddy. No one is jealous of a textbook farmer who spends more time talking math than he does actually learning math.

Doesn't sound like you have enough mathematical maturity to learn analysis at the level of Rudin yet. If you're really impatient then read Zoric as it starts off slow.

What the fuck did you just fucking type about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class at MIT, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids with Anonymous, and I have over 300 confirmed DDoSes. I am trained in online trolling and I’m the top hacker in the entire world. You are nothing to me but just another virus host. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on the Internet, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with typing that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we chat over IRC I am tracing your IP with my damn bare hands so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your computer. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can hack into your files in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in hacking, but I have access to the entire arsenal of every piece of malware ever created and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the world wide web, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking fingers. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit code all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.
