Camus was thinking that Sisyphus was happy because after a long, strenuous task, he had to walk back down and think of whatever the fuck he wanted. He could remember the good times, think of what the Earth looks like now, and remember that the reason he's doing this task is because he tricked the gods multiple times. When he pushes the boulder however, he thinks of nothing but the task at hand. He hasn't got time to think of the beautiful landscape of Earth or his eternal punishment, all he has to think about is that boulder. Really the only reason why Sisyphus is happy is because he is only aware of his punishment when he walks down that hill and can think of anything; his only time where the gods cannot control his thoughts or actions.

I went through a purgatory experience on DXM (was doing the same thing over and over while not sure if I was being dead or not because of how real it was) and one of the reasons I got through it was because of this book.

The Earth and everything around you is so beautiful, yet we grow apart from it looking at things that don't even exist. At fantasies we may feel we have been robbed of or the life we wish we had. What you have now and always have had is always there with you and a part of you, as is the entire universe.
