>go to the moon only once and never go back again in the past 50 years
>why build a colony on the moon when we can build one on Mars for 100 times the cost!
>he fell for the moon landing meme
The technology wasn't advanced enough back then that it would've been possible to go to the Moon. Also, in the original footage the American flag is clearly fluttering in wind, even though there is no wind on the Moon. It was all a hoax to win the space race without wasting too much money.
lol good thread :DDD

You think you can tell if the moon landing was a hoax but the KGB couldn't? Lol

So why were the Soviets less skeptical than tinfoil hats 40 years later?

Why build a desolate wasteland devoid of life in a studio when you have the state of Arizona?

First off, don't worry about anyone wasting actual money trying to send people to Mars. Musk needs to hype his company, politicians need to look like they're doing something. Humans on Mars is this generation's fusion power: it will always be 50 years away.
Second: one valid reason for choosing Mars over the moon is that Mars has an atmosphere. Admittedly, it's not much of an atmosphere, but it stops your "colony" from being constantly bombarded by meteorites the size of rice grains. There's a reason the lunar surface appears to be covered in a foot-deep layer of talcum powder.

Just admit your racists already

The moon is covered with glass-like particles called moon dust which can cause serious damage to equipment and humans. This pretty much makes a permanent moon settlement impossible

Dumb frogposter. There have been multiple manned moon landings, however the last one was in 1972.

You do know moon gets a lot of beating from space rocks right?
If you took that into consideration, I salute your determination being a literal pill cutter so that earth get its right dosage of space rocks.

The only thing the moon has going for it over mars is proximity. Going to mars is more about taking the next step as a species than it is about finding an affordable place to live, but sure lets just stay as 1 planet cucks.
