Also the reason why not many people decide to become Medical Doctors even if they could become one is because it doesn't interest them or they don't feel the costs outweigh the benefits.

I can only speak for myself, I cannot be a doctor. I cannot look at "gross" things without passing out. I look at blood and I am already falling down. When I go to the doctor to get MY blood taken out or to get an injection I always pass out while it is happening. Literally lights out for me.

That said, going into academia instead of into medicine would be to trade one form of slavery for another. People here cry about how medicine is 10 years of torture but to get a PhD and start publishing it is the same bullshit. That is why I apply my degree in mathematics in tech and earn a good living. Nothing close to 300k though but I could make it there.

The only reason I went into Medicine is because it was the path of least resistance. Get into med, then your life is basically on rails after that. It's an undergrad here so there wasn't much more to it than just clicking a box online. However it's making me want to kill myself, I'm getting off this train pretty soon.

That salary is great, but you need to keep in mind the debt incurred ($150k or $200k or whatever) plus 3 - 7+ years of training after med school.
