It's kind of like judging physics majors on an algebra-based 100 level mechanics class. No chemist actually takes it, anything chemist-tier you're not going to place out of with ap credit.

Nothing wrong with that. Important chemical properties are based on those numbers. Understanding that makes synthetic chemistry easier.
If you're studying chemistry (and your university is worth anything), you'll eventually learn the necessary quantum mechanics.
