Any easy way to manually work this out or just keep making educated guesses till you find the number that fits?
>>8395845
1) rewrite with your fraction bar being straight in the middle of your = sign otherwise this is unreadable 12-yo shit
2) repost new pic
3) choose good orientation
It's probably something like 1/(0.05)^2
But it could also be 4.

You've actually stumbled upon a famous unsolved problem in algebra. You'll probably have to settle for a numerical approximation.
>>8395845
Worked it out in my head, x = 400.
Inverse both sides of the equation, then do 1/0.05 which comes out to be 20. Then square 20 to get 400
>>8395852
stop your meme
you're being very unpleasant from threads to threads you're fucking polluting
>>8395855
You're 100% right.
That's what I found as well but not sure how I've worked that one out in my head.
Good job anyway thanks !
multiply both sides by radical x, divide both sides by .05, square both sides. in algebra the goal is to always isolate the variable.
>>8395863
you're 1 right too
and I'm 0,999999... right
and the world is fine
and you're a figgit
Well then, here's a harder one for you!
>>8395845
Square the right and side and take its reciprocal
>>8395872
>radical x
Honestly end your life
>>8395902
11.11...
I might as well post it in here because I feel fucking retarded but I can't for the life of me figure this shit out
>>8395845
1/0.05 = sqrt(x)
20 = sqrt(x)
x = 400
>>8395902
1/.3 = sqrt(x)
10/3 = sqrt(x)
x = 100/9
x = 11.111...

Looks like one strategy is to use a pretty obtuse trig identity
>>8395999
Fuck me, I don't know my hyperbolic identities at all. Thanks for finding this anon, I thought I was missing a simple trick and now I feel less stupid
>>8396008
Scratch that, mistook sec for sech. I'll try to remember changing it to tan
>>8395978
>>8396042
That's exactly what I was looking for, a simple and elegant solution. Thank you anon, I am finally at peace
>>8395978
Start by multiplying the integrand by (1-sin(x) / 1-sin(x)). Then use u-substitution
>>8396090
you'd better multiply by atan(cos(x)) and then make a little variable change x = cos ( asin (theta))
it's yielding stuff easy to integrate
>>8395845
>>8395978
>capital theta and pi
for what purpose
Can mods please ban this guy? Obviously underage.
>>8396556
They can't :)
>>8396558
They also can't shut down 4chan which is what they are trying to do.
To stop me.
But God is on my side.
But at least you guys got some money.
You're literally this guy in Gods eyes.
>>8396569
The rest of the world shall suffer until the rich pay for their sins.
Come to me and repent.
>>8395856
I thought it was funny, this question is fucking retarded, a 12 year old should have no problem with it.
>>8396042
Your handwriting is very neat. But why did you integrate by parts instead of just simplifying sin(x) / cos^2(x) to sec(x)tan(x), then integrating?
>>8396577
cuz i got a B- in trig lol.
i tried to simplify it into tan x / cos x and didn't think to turn the cos into sec.
it was a simple u-sub tho
>>8395845
First, take the inverse of both sides, giving you sqrt(x) = 1/.05. Simplify 1/.05 to 20. Then square both sides so you can get the value of x.
(sqrt(x))^2 = 20^2; x = 400.
As long as you can do multiplication it's simple. The goal with solving algebraic equations is to unravel the puzzle by performing a series of operations to both sides of the equation that results in x being on one side of the equation and all of the other numbers being on the other. You need to know your inverse operations in order to be able to simplify the expression.
Of course, not everything can be simplified to something in the form of x=(whatever). The solution to many equations can only be obtained with iterative methods that successively guess solutions until a close enough value is obtained.
