What, in your opinion, are the smartest boards on 4chan? What about the dumbest?
>>

Dumbest: All of them

Smart end would probably be:

/Sci/
/Lit/
/Hi/
Average
/Mu/
/Out/
/CK/
/G/
Dumb
/Mlp/
/B/
/V/

"smart"

The smartest boards are the ones who actually have in depth discussion or the ones that truly enjoy the respective board without shitposting.

The worst ones are the boards that spend all day posturing.

I.E /sci/, /fit/, /pol/ etc
>>
>>8379705
lmao. Didn't take long for the /pol/ haters to come out of the woodwork. Did you get your feelings hurt? Perhaps reddit is more your speed since you make dumbass posts with pretentious words like "posturing". KYS

Hmm, who could be behind this post...
>>
this is a /pol/ tier thread, just sayin'
>>
>>8379731
>everyone that disagrees with me is a jew

Case in point.
>>
>>8379711
I only made an observation.

If you thought posturing was a "pretentious" word you're probably just retarded. Read a book or something instead of blithering about /pol/ and you'll be well on your way to learning common english vocabulary.
>>
>>8379731
cognitive biases =! skepticism
>>
>>8379736
Not always the case, but most of the time it is. But its all proven with facts, and footage.
>>8379742
How so? It looks like youre the one who have cognitive biases and stereotypes everything.
>>
>>8379752
> It's almost always the Jews, just look at all this proof I won't show you!
>>
>>8379683
Smartest is probably something /diy/ where (I assume) people only post when they intend to actually do something that requires intelligence, as opposed to the "intellectual" boards like /sci/, /his/ and /lit/ where people just go to spout their stupid opinions. Dumbest board has to be /b/.
>>
>>8379752
>How so? It looks like youre the one who have cognitive biases and stereotypes everything.

If you're a regular on that board then i shouldnt have to explain how. If you have a differing opinion you will be shut down immediately and disregarded. It is 4chan at the end of the day but the ratio of casual sharing of opinions and discussion to shit flinging is ridiculous.

The entire board is far right by overwhelming majority meaning most threads are only posted to confirm opinions by people who already share the same views. There was a world news board in the past that was at least civil and didnt have incessant shitposting flamewars and aggressive prejudice in every corner.
>>
Stirnerposters are objectively the smartest.
>>
>>8379711
>ywn be this insecure
>>
>>8379792
Is this all you could think of for 20 minutes? If you browsed /pol/ for more than one minute you will see that the threads are backed up with information.
>>8379803
>shut down immediately and disregarded
Not true. There are tons of lefty thread without even one bad word in them, its just you who prefer to nitpick things.
>far right by overwhelming majority
Exactly, everyone who doesn't agree with you is far right because you're so progressive that everything that doesn't share your views is far right even though most of them are centrists. Oh and if you can't tell which is shitpost and which not, its your fault, you know?
>>
>>8379725
>/tg/ is smart but /lit/ isn't

How's engineering going?

/pol/ is unique in that it has both some of the smartest and dumbest posters on 4chan. It's a space shared by skeptics, shitposters, stormfags, libertarians, conservatives, nationalists, reactionaries, and people trying to troll all of the above.

It's a pretty cool and unique place, IMO, if you can get past a few of the really stupid and inane threads that pop up on a daily basis. Despite this drag, it really provides a refreshing perspective that can't be seen in mainstream forums of thought.
>>
>>8379845
Can you give some examples of posts there you consider smart?
>>
>>8379830
>has taste
>browses /lit/
Yeah dude dfw pynchon bloom lmao. You got such taste
>>
>>8379856
I don't like Pynchon. Sounds like your just butthurt no one takes your wizards and warlocks shit seriously. Almost as bad as anime.
>>
>>8379683
That depends on who(m) is on at the time. Even if you were to take the average intelligence of a board.
>>
>>8379866
You're* because I know you're desperate enough to point it out
>>
>>8379853
There was a really interesting series of threads on Fascism a few months ago. I'm not sure if the OP has continued to make them, as I haven't been browsing /pol/ as much lately.

The topic of discussion was largely Fascist theory, incorporating ideology originating primarily from the writings of Benito Mussolini, but also others who could be considered Fascists or sympathizers, such as José Antonio Primo de Rivera, Juan Perón, and Augusto Pinochet.

I found that taking an academic and positive approach to Fascism was exciting and new, and I felt that I learned a lot from that series of threads. It also turned me on to some Fascist literature that I've enjoyed reading.
>>
>>8379833
Yeah like I'm some servant, don't care at all since you dont either and its nice how you prefer to quote one sentence and stop there.
>>8379836
Because you claimed they are dumb in the first place so its you who has to prove it. And considering is one of the most popular boards its normal to have more shitposts threads but even here on /sci/ at least 1/3 of the threads are too.
>>
>>8379866
>talking about general board preferences
>but i dont like it
Fired up my neurons.
>>
>this thread
>>
>>8379701
/biz/ here, we're really not that smart. most of the board population exists out of degenerate stock gamblers and NEETs looking for ways to make money with the least possible effort.
>>
there is no smart board but sometimes you find this unpopular thread with interesting discussion in it
>>
>>8379874
If there were "tons" of leftist threads on /pol/ at any given time it shouldve been easy for you to find 3 fucking threads with legitimate discussion out of the 200 active and some 20000+ in the archive.

Problem is there arent any and if there are theyd have to been pushed to the bottom of the page fast before anyone saw and keep 1-3 posters at most.

>its nice how you prefer to quote one sentence and stop there.
What else is there to quote? /pol/ is, has been, and for the foreseeable future is far-right. Its been know as such since its fucking inception and its flood over from /n/ hence the joke "politically incorrect" from moot. And i also said nothing of my politcal stance so you're just blithering about fucking nothing in the first place.
>>
>>8379906
If you bothered to spend more than 1 hour on /pol/ you can see for yourself that there are and I don't see why I should search them for you. Why do you want people to spoonfeed you so bad?
> is far-right
Once again you pull things out of your ass. You clrearly have never been there nor bother to elaborate why. By that logic I should call every leftist far left, since it fits my agenda right.
>politically incorrect
Do you realise how vague this word is? Most of the leftists swear that they are not politically correct.
>>
>>8379683
Great another thread about /sci/'s obsession with intelligence.

Now I realize this board is not about science, it's about pretending to be interested in things that will assure you that you're intelligent.
>>
>>8379926
/thread
/board
>>
>>8379923
Not supporting change ideology because of muh feelings and the jews is literally the conservative right incarnated, but /pol/ converts to far left every time there is someone who seems against the jews and: "yes, all make sense now!".

The trump season is the perfect example how people follow a person based on their feelings, even though trumplets always complained politicians caring about muh feelings.

Every 10 threads there are 5 which are /pol/ baits. Get the fuck out of here.
>>
>>8379926
this so much
>>
>>8379926
Undergraduates come here to apout pseudointellectual bullshit every thread. Some come from 8gag to spam their stupid propaganda.
Some are studying right now and just lurking a few minutes a day.
And the rest are crossboarders and people who actually have experience in the fields.

Janitors won't ever delete these kind of threads. Kids don't give a fuck because they are the ones who reply to these kind of cancerous threads such as gorilla, r9k or pol topics.

There was a thread where an anon complained about the state of the board. And there is always the same guy: "everything is fine".

How do we convinve Hiro to change Janitors?
>>
>>8379934
So you are using arguments from /pol/ against them? How does that makes sense?
>follow a person based on their feelings
Leftists don't hillary because she is women, even thought it was proven how corrupt she is? Hmmmmmm. You're quite biased, and using muh feeling on /pol/ is even more ridiculous.
>Every 10 threads there are 5 which are /pol/ baits
Do you have reading disability or just shit memory? I already said that /pol/ is one of the most popular boards and its normal to have troll threads. And here we have 1000+ gorilla threads every week here. Its completely normal for this 4chan.
>>
>>8379945
Typing through the phone messed up my post really bad
>>
>>8379945
>no corrupt hillary
>so, trump makes sense
Yeah, both were the unique candidates since the beginning. But it doesn't matter. That's a perfect example of a great propaganda campaign.

Also, I was pointing out the threads from /sci/. Just take a look at the catalog. These Janitors should be changed.
>>
I just traveled to every other board and based my findings on how likely it was that you could have an intelligent or at least civil conversation in each one. This is excluding boards solely for porn, non-text boards, and request boards.

Basically, I picked a popular thread at random (above 100 posts, above 50 on slower boards) and counted how many posts it took to get to a flame/troll/shitpost or generally pointless post. Here are my findings:

/r9k/, /s4s/, /lgbt/, /asp/,/co/, and /pol/ were eliminated immediately as just finding a thread that didn't automatically start off as a troll or a shitpost was almost impossible.

Boards that couldn't make it past single digit post count:
/a/ - 3 posts in "FUCK YOU"
/b/ - 2 posts in "They both have faggots that watch them and jerk off."
/c/ - 8 posts in "They seriously have shit taste over there"
/k/ - 3 posts in "shits gay as fuck, way too artistic and foreign, young clint eastwood is a twink homo too"
/v/ - 3 posts in "found the normie scum"
/biz/ - 3 posts in "indeed we just have to kill the socialist scum first."
/fa/ - 3 posts in "no theyre gay"
/int/ - 7 posts in "Winston Churchill was a little bitch."
/sp/ - 5 posts in "Fuck off."
/tg/ - 6 posts in "They're fucking shit desu."
/trv/ - 8 posts in "HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCK YOU FUCKING FAGGOT"
/tv/ - 3 posts in "Op is dumb'

Double digit post counts in next post.
>>
>>8379953

Double digits below 20:

/g/ - 10 posts in "Fucking kill yourselves mobile posters"
/vg/ - 11 posts in "I want to hate-fuck Monaca"
/adv/ - 15 posts in "Goddamn shut the fuck up. Romance isn't dead, you've dated ONE person you dipshit."
/fit/ - 19 posts in "how are you this stupid?"
/out/ - 15 posts in "gtfo north face fag"
/lit/ - 19 posts in "Fuck you, now I have to fap to Shimakaze-kun porn"

These are the boards that made it past 20.

/m/ - 21 posts in "No I'm America. I really don't give a fuck about yurope."
/an/ - 42 posts in "Just stick a gerbil up your ass, like Huckleberry Finn"
/cgl/ - 41 posts in "this has to be bait or selfposting; I refuse to believe anyone who goes on /cgl/ could genuinely have such shit taste"
/ck/ - 48 posts in "Horse jizz'
/diy/ - 45 posts in "Fuck off shitbaby"
/toy/ - 27 posts "it's mostly for chinks. They have zero taste."
/his/ - 31 posts in "fuck off back to leftpol, SJW"

And finally, boards where I was able to make it through an entire thread without shitposting at all.

/o/,/p/,/vr/,/3/,/gd/,/jp/,/mu/,/n/, and /po/.
>>
>>8379952
>trump makes sense
Its just that he is the less evil. There were thousand threads that criticized him on his views and anyway there are still people who will sincerely vote for hillary
>>
>>8379943
Got deleted quickly, too. I even made it a point not to say anything about jannies, but they deleted it anyway.

And yet retarded meme reposts and other cancer is apparently welcome. This board will actually gain from not having any janitors, that's how sad things are right now.

Anon. Every politician has a ton of shit behind his back. Trump was not the best bet for the right wing, but his propaganda campaign was successful. Now you know almost every person follow their feelings when they vote.

They will delete this one. I think we should post this on /qa/

/sci/ has some clever users but i doubt it's average intelligence is very high at all.
/biz/ are generally all retarded
>>
>>8379979
>less evil
They won't do shit without the agenda supporting them. If they had to spend millions of dollars again for a fucking war, the leftist agenda would fuck them up the next elections, it wouldn't be the same 10 years ago with Bush.

I seriously hope Trump wins so Americans start radically changing their conditions. But I didn't actually expect him to be one of the primary candidates. It's pretty devastating knowing that those two showman and show-woman are the most voted politicians.

>>8379982
>>8379983
This. /jp/ is full of braindead fags. The shitpost is a rule.

/mu/ has a couple of meme threads but they are limited compared to /sci/

Any ideas how we could change the janitors?
>>8379985
A shame that guy used a trumplet image.
>>
>all these retarted ass libcucks in this thread butt hurt about /pol/
Fucking lol CTR you are really making your rounds arent you
>>
>>8380006
It was like a theme, text was Trump-like too.
>>
I guarantee the smartest board on 4chan is /out/, followed by /sci/, /diy/, and /lit/. /his/ was good for its first week but quickly devolved into shitposting.

Dumbest boards include /b/ and /pol/ (for having the youngest userbase), /v/, /vg/, 90% of /x/ posters (even though I enjoy /x/ sometimes), /cgl/, /mlp/, /trash/, and /s4s/ (inb4 "you just don't get irony maaaan!")
>>
>>8380017
But Trump talks like a leader except when he is talking shit about the other candidates. There are paid classes about how to talk like a leader.

But the MAGA hat made the janitors have an excuse to delete the thread.
>>
No one is smarter than anyone else. Smartness is an illusion. Just like this world. It's nothing. We only think life has a meaning to justify our petty existence, but life has no meaning. Life is nothing but a continuous function on a closed interval. Once t has exited our domain, we are irrelevant pieces of information.

>smartest
in no specific order
/pol/ - mental strength not to fall for liberal narrative, inquisitive, very politically aware
/lit/ - reads lots of books, probably very high reading skills, write
/sci/ - most people are majoring in some STEM field. That takes true intellectual capacity. Not saying non-STEM doesn't, but STEM is more demanding
/his/ - extensive knowledge about history, what else can I say
/int/ - extensive knowledge about geopolitics, culture and other countries
/fit/ - nutrition, bodybuilding, and general fitness is like black magic for some, these guys know what they're doing
/k/ - extensive knowledge about guns

>Stupidest
/mu/ - a board dedicated to music, but it's all garbage
/mlp/, /v/, /vp/, /a/, etc. - these are hobbies, either cartoons or games, no need to talk so much about them.
/x/ - only good for the stories. They stuff they're knowledgeable about is completely useless out of the realm of conspiracies. Granted, I too, really wish to believe in secret conspiracies but /x/ just makes it laughable.
/r9k/ - mentally retard, though I do browse the board when I feel down. Misery loves company.
>>
>>8380053
So because a board is centered around a hobby, it means it's filled with dumb people.
>>
>>8380053
/pol/ doesn't believe in the mainstream narrative but they've sure as hell fallen for their own. There are good points made about certain things but the rest is trash. Saying "nigger" for edge factor isn't much of a political platform.
