Why are scientists wasting time trying to figure out shit about the birth of the universe?
Would the world be a better place if they focused on the future?

They are called "grant chasers". They are worthless people who don't contribute to society, but have figured out how to bullshit other people into paying them for what is essentially a NEET existence.

>bullshit
Don't you mean "theoretical" bullshit?

To know the end one must know the beginning.

Lets say we find out how the universe was created, how is that going to make our lives better? Do you not think it would be a better use of brainpower and capital to research things that will definitely help the human race? Space travel, medicine etc

Have you ever seen a man gut punch a God?

Religion is just early attempts to explain where everything came from. Science is the modern attempt. Sorry if it's doing a better job than the people who wrote this load of shit.

Mainstream science has to offer a compatible creation myth.

How can people even pretend that it works as a metaphor?
Light is older than the Earth

>find out how the universe was created
>understand entropy
>understand gravity
>understand why light is how it is
>understand where atoms came from
are you daft?
Why are athletes wasting time trying to figure out who's the biggest chad?
Would the world be a better place if they focused on the future?
Why are NEETs wasting time trying to figure out who's the biggest degenerate on an indonesian cave paintings forum?
Would the world be a better place if they focused on the future?
We can observe the history of the universe directly because of light travel time. The you can't point a telescope at the future however. We can only predict the future evolution of the universe by understanding it's history.

What is this from?
At this point, the past is interesting and the future is obsolete.
scientists receive funding for trying to find hypothetical particles.
During election years, you usually see NASA coming up with data about finding life or extra planets. This is just a way for voters to make note on who to elect that will give them more funding and jobs. Same thing happens with police officers who need quotas to continue funding otherwise they get downsized and less toys.
