Your multiplication on the top is fucked. It looks like you forgot to square the first term.
(a-b)(a-b)
= (a-b)a + (a-b)(-b)
= a^2 - ba - ba + b*2

You're actually both wrong. When you expanded your numerator you forgot to square the sqrt{2}, and your teacher forgot to divide by -7. Great job with the maths there, 'murca.
