I just bricked my TI-84+ trying to install a Chinese OS.
Is the newest TI-84+ CE worth the money or should I go for an older model?

Just get a Casio FX-115es Plus.

>Casio FX-115es Plus
I wouldn't be able to store programs for cheating with that.
>>8188881
>cheating
fuck off
>>8188881
Study and you won't need to cheat.
>>8188881
>cheating
what a massive faggot

You'll never understand higher math if you use your calculator as a crutch throughout your Calc I class.
Of course, engineers don't have this problem. They don't need any higher math.
>>8188928
I'm pretty sure engineers need to know like...what differential equations are.
>>8188930
no, they don't. they just need to plug and chug to solve them when they appear. no qualitative study whatsoever
>>8188930
nah. literally everything in engineering is taylor series approximation. you will never solve anything analytically ever again, for whatever your field, the first principles derivation has been done a long time ago.
>>8188924
The real world won't tell you what to program into your calculator to cheat with.
>>8188975
Are you implying that his programs told him what to program into his calculator?
>>8188870
TI-36X master race
>>8188932
Except it's really nice to have an intuitive feeling for engineering, that way when the bridge you're building is apparently gonna weigh 50 lbs you know something is wrong.
>>8188870
WHAT THE FUCK!? JUST GET A CALCULATIR WHAT THE FUCK IS ALL THIS?
>>8189037
>this is what's going to be on the test
Yes, yes they did
I have an old ti-83 that does everything just fine.
>>8188881
It's funny to know for me that you will end up being a burnout.
>>8188870
I got the TI-84+ CE last holiday season. great calculator, I recommend you get it.
>>8188870
Get a HP-50g
whatevers cheaper, All TIs are basically the same shit.

Look who obviously doesn't know how powerful TI basic is
>>8190545
>Look who obviously doesn't know how powerful TI basic is
this right here. i crushed heat transfer with my dank-nicholson program.
>>8189585
I cheated with my calculator and ended up with a degree.
I just don't like memorizing random properties.
>>8188975
>The real world won't tell you what to program into your calculator to cheat with.
yeah it will. this isn't 1990. we have the sum of all human knowledge at our fingertips.
>>8188870
>trying to install a Chinese OS
Why? What advantage would that give you over the original OS?
>>8188870
Ti-89 my nig. More memory for storing sweet mega man clone games.
>>8188870
It's the model I have. I love it.
>>8188870
>All these idiots buying overpriced TI
>Not realizing the only reason TI makes calculators is to con schools
>Not realizing even TI's own engineers don't use their POS calculators
I expected better of /sci/

>>8190545
If you're going to cheat, why not go all the way?
>>8191717
Because most professors aren't legally blind.
>>8191721
They'll never see it
>>8190607
>downloading Wikipedia onto a calculator
Right.... Good luck with that
