says. Wind is the thermodynamic process of two systems with different temperatures trying to get into equilibrium. When you move at high speeds, what you feel is not wind. Therefore, you will always get "something" blowing in your face.

We always have a little bit of headwind because of the velocity we're cycling at. But if stronger sidewinds are also present we perceive tham as strong headwinds because we can't accurately make out the direction. Thus, for many different wind directions we think we cycle against headwind when we really don't.
