Sci,
Can you tell me about the human immune system and autoimmune diseases.
Specifically how TH1, TH2 and TH17 cells work, how they are created and regulated and what epigenetic triggers cause these different cells/systems to be produced.
Also will taking diindolylmethane fix my autoimmune issues, like massive food intolerances I've developed over the past 10 years?

I am sorry to say this, but I can't cover the whole story on a board like that. The immune system is an enormous, misunderstood, complex machine.
About T cells : Their "creation" (better use the term differentiation) merit a whole chapter, but basically : TH1,2,3,9,17,reg, etc... come from CD4+ T cells, present in lymph nodes.
When activated by an APC (antigen presenting cell, like dendritic cells, B cells) they proliferate and differentiate into a specific subtype depending of the immune context. What I mean by that ? Mainly cytokines. When activating a T cell, the APC also produces specific cytokines, each combination guide T cell differentiation.

Can't say for sure, for what I see it seems DIM activates some part of the immune system and inhibits others. DIM activated Treg, that shut down Th17 activity and differentiation.
