The RS-68 was developed at Rocketdyne Propulsion and Power, located in Canoga Park, Los Angeles, California, where the SSME is manufactured. It was designed to power the Delta IV Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV).

>Carrying classified spy satellite.

You mean, "Carrying unknown payload." Because it isn't even offically confirmed that there is a satellite and the word "classified" merely means something has been put into one class or another. Like "Top Secret" is one classification for classified things while, "Public" is another classification for classified things.

It may be filled with military issue dragon dildos for all anyone knows.

no, that's the boat for interrupting SpaceX launches. The rain delay already cost SpaceX the static fire for their Tuesday launch.

Lightning is fucking nothing for rockets. Look at mighty Apollo 12, hit twice by lightning and still went to moon and back. Crew didn't even notice it.

They didn't tell the crew on purpose

That may be so but I think the crew probably noticed when most of their instrumentation turned off and all the warning lights to turn on.

>all LH2 rockets

>>
>>8138085
eh. it built on the experience we had with the Shuttle engines, but cheaper to make. At least they are all American, unlike the Russian engines on the Atlas and Antares. Let's see who uses which fuel:

Poison UDMH: Proton, Rokot, Dnepr, China, India
Kerosene: Soyuz, Energia, Atlas, Falcon
Hydrogen: Delta, Japan, Ariane 5

so it seems like Hydrogen is the fuel of freedom.
>>

Also, more companies need on board cameras. They are good for post diagnostics and publicity.
>>
>>8138413
>Kerosene: Energia
Energia's main stage was hydrogen.
>>
>>8138558
huh. I didn't think Russia did anything with hydrogen.

Anyway, the only Energia thing left is Zenit, which is kerosene. And even it and Dnepr will soon be retired because Ukraine.
>>
>>8133589

A vanilla Delta IV costs twice as much as an Atlas V. The Delta IV Heavy only flies because some payloads simply will not fit on any configuration of the Atlas.
