It's much more humane than some of the recent American executions, where they might have languished while paralyzed in excruciating pain for hours.

Most people don't know that the guillotiune was intended as an improvement over other methods of execution, such as shooting, draw and quartering, hanging, etc., and in that measure, in that period of history, it was a pretty big success. At worst, just a few seconds of mind-numbing pain.

Frenchfag here, actually sometimes the guillotine didn't cut off the head in one shot, and it had to be raised again so they could let it fall again to cut off the head, so im assuming if the first blow didn't completely decapitate the person, the possibility that he is still able to feel pain is definitely there

It's wrong more often than not, and there is zero moderation.
I'm not saying the conclusion is incorrect, we just need a better source that the TMZ of fact checking.
