is this just a sham? the heck is applied physics? I'm interested in physics but I'm also interested in moving out of my mom's basement someday so I'm trying to find the solution

I'm not sure what makes this 'applied.' It covers the basics of a phyics undergrad, if not a little light on electives/special topics. If you want to sell the title 'applied,' you should consider some internships during your summers, or maybe doing research in an engineering/experimental lab that focuses more on design or instrumentation than fundamental science.

so I'd just be cucking myself if a chose that over pure physics? would I be better off with computational maths or electrical engineering or something?
>>
Applied physics is called Engineering.
>>

are you saying to just do an engineering degree if I wanted "applied physics" or that that degree will essentially pass as an engineering degree in the eyes of employers. if the former, which kind of engineering is closest?
>>
>>8121299
There isn't an engineering that is close to physics. Mech eng has the mechanics parts, elec eng has electromagnetism/optics but it's much more limited. Chem eng has some of the quantum but it's rushed over. Structural has a lot of monkeys eating each other's shit

what about AeroE/nukeE? so applied physics would be a legitimate pathway if one wants to study physics but be more employable? is it tantamount to "engineering physics"? basically I want to study physics like a physics major but end up in life like I majored in engineering .. make it happen for me

Just do physics undergrad, then engineering grad. Ezpz

didn't know that was a thing; thanks for solving my life anon

And not be able to get your PE and not be able to get hired in some states as an engineer. Some states require a bachelors in engineering to do it. A masters won't work.
