Mine is astronomy.

I hope you meant astrophysics, pleb. Astronomy is better than astrology, but only slightly better than photography in terms of actual science.
>Astrophysics master race here

Isn't astronomy pretty much experimental astrophysics? Like astronomers observe shit, astrophysicists explain said shit.
>>8080671
No. "Experimental astrophysics" is experimental astrophysics. Explaining the shit that experimental astrophysics observes is theoretical astrophysics. Astronomy is just a hobby.

You sound like an asshole who'll be despised by his colleagues, good luck being the next Lubos or whatever.

The words are completely equivalent now, it's only in the early 20th century did the terms differ. I say that as a PhD student in astrophysics working in an astronomy department. It really makes no difference but astronomy is the more common term.
>>8080671
Originally it was. Astronomy was the science of measuring the sky. Nowadays nobody makes a distinction.

> Astronomy is just a hobby.
Which is why the A in IAU, RAS and the second A in AAS stands for astronomy. Please shut up about things you know nothing about.

High energy astrophysics. Cosmic rays, neutrinos, gamma rays. Fascinating stuff

>yfw you will never be able to land foot on any of those planets in this picture.
Why can't singularity or immortality come any sooner?

There are planets in that picture, you just can't see them

Same fucking thing retard
Maths looks cool to me, but I was never cut out for it
I study electrical engineering, however I love astronomy

I said the same thing. Took me ages to get into math at Uni but I started out doing an introductory paper which was like high school math (that I had immense difficulty with) and then eventually I took more and more papers and then got into it. I failed so many assignments and didn't pass a midterm test for ages but I always tutored up for the exam and now I start complexity and analysis next year
