How can C be the speed limit in the universe when quantum entanglement can transfer information instantly (view "spooky action at a distance")?

" any measurement of a property of a particle can be seen as acting on that particle (e.g., by collapsing a number of superposed states) and will change the original quantum property by some unknown amount; and in the case of entangled particles, such a measurement will be on the entangled system as a whole. It thus appears that one particle of an entangled pair "knows" what measurement has been performed on the other, and with what outcome, even though there is no known means for such information to be communicated between the particles, which at the time of measurement may be separated by arbitrarily large distances."
elaborate
>>
>>8070818
also "This has been shown to occur even when the measurements are performed more quickly than light could travel between the sites of measurement: there is no lightspeed or slower influence that can pass between the entangled particles"

1. Entangle billions and billions of particles.
2. take one of each couple and send them to Andromeda with 50% of the light speed.
3. After 4 million years particles arrive in Andromeda.
4. Play lagless online multiplayer games between 2 million lightyears distance.

your move.

>your more.
deny that step 4 is possible

You can't set the state of an entangled particle so it's useless for vidya.

> i dont understand how entanglement works
no you don't

If someone can answer that, then they will get a Nobel prize.

Also, as the other anons explained: You can create entangled particles, and you can measure one of the particles to break the superposition, but you cannot control which state it will come in.

It's like a machine that creates pairs of boxes, and it always creates pairs of boxes that contain balls of the same color, red or blue. Every time it creates a pair of boxes, you don't know what color of balls are inside the boxes until you open it up and look. Once you open the box and see that the ball is red, you instantly know that the ball in the other box is red and not blue. That doesn't allow you to actually establish a communication protocol, because you cannot adjust the color in any way.

Now, real entanglement is a little more complex. Instead of choosing the color of the balls when creating the boxes, as best as we can tell, the color is chosen at the moment that the first box of the pair is opened, but again it's determined randomly. With no way to affect what color is chosen, all you know is that the other person will also see the same color, but again it's not enough to establish a communication protocol.

Came here to post this.
This shit should be in the sticky, along with a simple explanation of Monty Hall, and a link to the Wikipedia article for relativity of simultaneity so we can stop pretending wormholes or warp drive allow FTL.
>>
>>8070810
because C compiles and is very low level so it's easier to write code that encourages the compiler to produce fast code.

Srsly. Please this. I find myself doing that frequently.
>>

it seems you are right. You can't even exploit the fact when the measurement is made the outcome is so random so you dont know if the entangled pair has already been measured before. There is no way to know if you made the measurement first, so there is no way to exploit this.

No videogames between earth and Andromeda then :(

Its not, assembly is faster
