How fucking rad is this

Pretty fucking rad if you ask me. What does the increasing um counter mean?
Neat but how is this any better than the stuff Lichtman's lab is doing? What I'd like to see is real-time imaging in vivo so we can capture the dynamics of neuronal networks as they're functioning, not more of this structural/connectomics stuff.
cellular automata is real motherfucker

it's the depth of the image, this is an MRI by the looks of it.
It's a 3d image spaced in time instead of three spacial dimensions, probably of a brain?

IT'S OBVIOUSLY THE Z AXIS YOU FUCKING MORON.
A histological section might seem like a 2D plane, but it's a 3D volume, and the depth of field of a microscope is shallower than the thickness of the section. Obviously the guy is passing the plane of focus through the volume of the section.
Something like this, where the pink rectangle is the focal plane, and you can move up or down though the sample to see different "2D" sections of the 3D sample.

>MRI
>Seeing individual neuronal bodies
No.
>"Deep Brain Imaging"
>Probably of a brain
Yeah.

>its just a computer program making pixels
If you think so have fun staying dumb homie
>>7752966
>spaced in time
nah it's literally micrometers in depth i think
>>7752892
since it's a 2D scan it's probably depth into the brain
