what if string theory is the best we've got?

What if a proof was found that says no Theory of Everything can exist without generating a large number of universes and taking the anthropic principle into account?

would phycisists go through an existential crisis like mathematicians did after godel's incompleteness theorem was proven? would they commit mass suicide?

what if your mum wasn't whore?

I think you'd have gotten a proper education and wouldn't be asking stupid questions on a barbadian pig fucking forum.
>>
>>7735514
honestly I don't know why they haven't already since even their theory of gravity doesn't work and they had to add "dark matter"...

So I guess no, they won't commit mass suicide, they had the opportunity before.

There exist particles that hide under the guise of a zero-point on the velocity-pattern of a vibrating string.

These particles are probably the fundamental ones, while the extrema of the velocity pattern is the source of quantum gravity/entanglement.

yeah I am crazy.

Einstein commited suicide after the Bell test experiments were performed.

Physists tried to cover it up by delaying the results for a decade after Einstein's death.

look up einstein death conspiracy

>what if string theory is the best we've got?
Confirmation of String Theory would be a great thing.
>>
>>7735562
How long?
>>
Personally I'm a shill for Loop Quantum Gravity. Lee Smolin is a smart guy, plus it's a more falsifiable theory.
>>
>>7735514
Well Quantum entanglement support this very well, like stretching the string, updating it instantaneous on both sides due being same string

>Personally I'm a shill for Loop Quantum Gravity.
Smh
>>
>>7735599
i'd say lattice gauge theory is more falsifiable.
>>
>>7735768
Lattice gauge theory is a computational method. I'm not sure if that's the joke.
>>
>>7735514
There's still quantum loop theory
>>
>>7735900
LQG is a meme with at least as many problems as ST.
>>

>plus it's a more falsifiable theory.

True. So true in fact Fermi telescope has already falsified it.
>>
That latest ~750GeV particle might be a good thing for string theory. Especially if it ends up being a radion or dilaton.
>>
>>7735599
>Lee Smolin is a smart guy
And Witten is probably the smartest guy alive. That doesn't mean string theory is valid.
>>
We may have reached a limit in science where aspects of the universe are so fundamental that they can no longer be probed by experiments that exists within the universe. this is in principle and not a limitation of technology

https://www.quantamagazine.org/20151216-physicists-and-philosophers-debate-the-boundaries-of-science/

philosophers have made peace with the fact that qualia can't be tested
mathematicians have made peace with the fact that no axiomatic system can be both consistent and completent
computer scientists have made peace with the fact that you can't tell if a program will halt with a given input

can empiricists acknowledge their defeat?
>>
>>7736865

>can empiricists acknowledge their defeat?

No, because if we could travel to other universes, then we could make tests about this one.
>>
>>7735521
>gravity doesnt work
>invent dark matter

pls explain
>>
>>7735514
>what if string theory is the best we've got?
It is though. Right now we don't have any better theory of quantum gravity.
>>
>>7735521
Calculated rotation curves were the product of gravity AND the assumption that light traced mass. It's downright religious to claim this is proof GR failed. Astronomers on the other hand constructed a hypothesis (dark matter) and tested it (galaxy-galaxy lensing, galaxy clusters, the CMB power spectrum, HODs...). That's how dark matter became accepted. That is the difference between your feeble mind and that of an actual scientist.

What do you mean by "we", Peasant?
