working through these books in this order will make you preddy fuggin based at algebra. as good as a good grad student anyways.

D+F is a good book to have, it's very useful as an encyclopedia and place to look up basic results. Working straight through it can be tiresome though. Artin is less comprehensive as a starting point but much more pleasurable to read.

by the way OP if you just did linear algebra you should definitely just jump straight into combinatorics and roll with that until you need abstract algebra to understand what you're reading.
