Does the online 'Library of Babel' have any use? Technically, isn't the cure for cancer and secret to FTL travel hidden somewhere on this site?
yes now find it
What he said. Its in there somewhere, you can get it and be reknowned the world over if y'just go digging.
I hope you're trolling, but honestly, I'm not even sure anymore
What if you made a replicant with a really powerful brain, put the library into its brain and had it filter the information? Like the way we dream and wake up knowing shit, couldn't an AI possibly do that?

Explain.

>Does the alphabet have any use?
>Technically, isn't the cure for cancer just a combination of its letters?
>>7698135
Checking to see if a random accumulation of letters gives the cure for cancer is massively more complex than curing cancer.

I was trying to say something like this but I couldnt think of the way to do it. Thank you, anon.

Oh hey look, I found it.

For a second, I thought someone made a replacement for libgen and then I was disappointed.

>if i highlight and click new tab some shit you wrote comes up
>if i copy and paste the url into a new tab its just a random page
wut
>tfw found a real word
>you can search any phrase and bookmark it with a url, which you can then unbookmark
Couldn't this be used as an untraceable form of communication between spies or terrorists?
>>7698343
>>7698387
No i mean you could text your terrorist friend the bookmark URL which links to a page you bookmarked with the message you searched, then when they confirm they read it you can unbookmark it
>>7698397
if your a terrorist and you are being monitored there will be a record of you accessing the url.
the way most terrorist communicate is by writing an email and not sending it, then the other terrorist logs onto the account and reads the email you wrote but didn't send, since it never traveled over the wires it cannot be interecepted.
but i don't know if the nsa has a searching program embedded in major email servers like google or not
>>7698409
they do
>>7698343
>untraceable
why would that be untraceable
>>7698426
AFAIK xkeyscore scours the web for keywords, the words you use are already there on the site.

look at this!

>Technically, isn't the cure for cancer and secret to FTL travel hidden somewhere on this site?
Only if there IS a cure for cancer, and a potential form of FTL.
>>7698467
This made me lol out loud

How does this work?
>>7699090
Uses an algorithm. Converts number into text. Reverse to convert text to number. There is a vsauce video on it
http://pastebin.com/YXWrKHeD
why does page 52 or 54 of this book look so weird?
url is too long for 4chan
>>7699681
What's weird about it?
There's no information at all on that site, the information is all in the URL you typed into it.
So if the secret to FTL is "hidden in that website", then it's also hidden in every pen and pencil.
The images are better
https://babelia.libraryofbabel.info/slideshow.html
just look at them slightly out of focus and you can see all kinds of shit.
>>7700830
it contains every page of 3200 characters, which it uses 29 of.
one page thus needs ~ 3kB to store it and there are about 29^3200 pages. thats 29^3194 TB
or around 10^4671 TB
assuming we get 1 TB hard drive size down to 1cm^2 we could fit 10^87 TB in the visible universe if we back them real tight.
So we would need 10^4584 universes to store all the pages.
so yes, 'next to impossible'.
