What do you guys think about the Rodin coil.
If I said I could build a UFO with one would you belive?
>>
>>7695646
it's an electromagnet
no
>>
>>7695646
I'd believe you're lying. Everyone knows UFO's float from rotating supercooled mercury.
>>
>>7695659
Elaborate
>>
>>7695665
I was kidding, awhile ago I heard that mercury has some strange properties when cooled to near absolute 0. If you want to know more you can research "mercury magnetic vortex".
>>
>>7695659
So I can just use this to rotate the super cooled mercury
>>
>>7695659
>>7695679
mercury freezes at relatively normal temperatures. How the hell would it remain liquid at near absolute zero?
>>
>>7695679
Okay thank you
>>
>>7695683
by rotating it with an electromagnet like >>7695680 said

Just in case you weren't already laughing at OP, here's some of the "math" behind the Rodin coil.

superconductors will hover above magnetic fields because tiny faults in the metal are "pinned" through by single quanta of magnetic field called fluxons. I doubt you could use this with the earth's magnetic field.

actually it just occurs to me that's not what he's talking about nevermind.

there you go

Virtually all of the weird shit the Rodin coil is supposed to do are either:

>things that any double-wrapped toroidal coil would do (mind you, toroidal coils are pretty interesting)

>things that would be interesting but not terribly remarkable if true (like being particularly efficient or having a high field strength)

>things that are obviously bullshit, like somehow magnifying its own energy into more energy through overunity magic
