You know exercise (especially cardiovascular) stimulates neurogenesis right?
Why don't you exercise regularly?

I do exercise regularly, but not for that reason.
Running makes you dumber, it is a waste of time for an intellectual.

How is neurogenesis beneficial? Does neurogenesis help with the overall function of cortical columns?
>>7687162
why?

So does sitting around and eating cocoa beans.
The only meaningful aspects lie in what regions, the whole spectrum of changes induced by exercise, and if these cells actually survive long term and serve a useful purpose. Don't get me wrong, exercise is certainly important. It can be good for modulating stress, which lowers cortisol levels. All the obvious shit with insulin sensitivity and circulating triglycerides, lactic acid metabolism, etc.
Just doing it for neurogenesis is probably pretty pointless. Most of that growth likely clusters in motor regions, with a bit in executive areas. It's likely helping you psychologically in other ways.
I also wish that dumbass animation style would go and stay gone. Get the fuck out of here you abomination.

It's funny that /sci/ is obsessed with immortality yet most of the board has a poor diet and never exercises.

Everyone must think the same in your world then.
