I think for something to be ruining your life proper it would have to be the case that if you removed it you wouldn't still be ruining your life.
>>

fren, i whole-heartedly believe in everything i say. i'm not an idealist- i'm secretle a realist... i see the world 4 what it rly is... nice.

and fren, being nice is the best thing thats ever happen'd 2 me. before i was rly rude and didn't get my way at all. i didn't know 2 smile and it seemed like my life was ruin'd but then i watch doremi and came onto [s4s] and suddenly i was a lot happer. so much happer and better off. i'm helping my famile by bringing in mone with a job i managed 2 get just days after niceposting and manage'd 2 become 100% more productive. i don't think... being bitter n sade is the way 2 go. in fact i think it's very dumdum. DUMDUM. pardon my francé but it's true. peoplel who do dat or partake in "lole i wanna kill myself" humor are just making themselves rly sade... i don't think that's smart at all! u shud never even joke about ur very serious situation... its ur life. u only have one. just giving up too is the easiest thing any1 can do. it's not smart 2 do so either. it's been done lots of times before, none of those peoplel who gave up are any smarter than those who tried... nowhere close!

FREN, believe me when i say that being happe... learning 2 smile... is the best thing u could ever do 4 urslelf. being nice is not hard. it's rly easy. and if u could try it... i think u'd like it a lot. sincerity is not very mainstream these days but [s4s] has always been underground. we can be nice together, fren. u don't have 2 be sade. ur a beautiflel flower that's just waiting 2 bloom and i know that 2 b a FACT.

You're saying that people should be nice, because it makes them happy... happiness being the end goal here.

but tbh I enjoy being angry and mean to others. sure, that sounds edgy and angsty, but I'm just being honest with myself. its just human nature to enjoy being angry, why do we have to deny who we are.
>>
>>5791700
human nature is niceness tho, tribes would kill rude and selfish figs
>>

how is that nihilistic, in any way? finding meaning and purpose from "bad" things like anger and cruelty is the opposite of nihilism, since nihilism necessitates that there be no purpose or meaning in anything

the belief that there's nothing more to life than reveling in the pleasure fulfilling a base instinct grants in inherently nihilistic
>>
>>5791635
answer meeeeeee
>>
>>5791700
"human nature" is largely malleable and tends to differ highly person to person. There are people who are genuinely troubled by any anger they experience, and are most at peace by remaining, well, at peace. If you don't believe that you're denying the fundamental reality that, despite similarities that appear on average, humans as a whole have a large, large variance in how they interpret their input and how they choose their output.
It's also of note that the nature can be changed rather radically, particularly if you are still young. You have grown complacent in your substandard brain, which will, in its current state, either be deprived of pleasure or deprive others of pleasure, and in defense of that complacency have erected a barrier of "it's just human nature". You could change, but you never will if you continue to delude yourself.
>>
>>5791735
then the doremi poster is also nihilistic. so you are reveling in the pleasure from a baser instinct, so what? people do that all the time. not to mention that reveling in baser things in no way excludes you from enjoying other, more mentally fulfilling activities either. so why even bring up nihilism at all.
>>
>>5791745
>then the doremi poster is also nihilistic
[citation needed]
>>
>>5791743
yeah, human nature does tend to differ highly from person to person. this is still trailing from the original question: if being rude and cruel brings you happiness, should you pursue it?
>You have grown complacent in your substandard brain
ad hominem.
>if you continue to delude yourself.
you won't even entertain the idea that disagrees with you?... :^)

>>5791746
don't be coy. if nihilism is just "reveling in the pleasure fulfilling a base instinct grants", and doremi poster >>5791619 is basically just saying "be nice and smile, and it will bring you happiness," tell me how that is not just a baser instinct/pleasure that they are fulfilling.

kindness is a much higher level function than rudeposting
any animal can kill, but the ability of people to cooperate and form societies is one of the main thing that separates us from the rest of the animals
>>
>>5791752
"if being rude and cruel brings you happiness, should you pursue it?"
Depends on whether you accept any moral axioms and have a value set. If you don't believe in human rights, for instance, then I'm not going to be able to convince you that you shouldn't kill other people. However, when I enter a discussion I usually do the person I'm talking to the courtesy of assuming that they have moral values rather than having to interrogate people on whether or not they believe that, all things being equal, a human being tortured to death is "worse" than a human living a happy life. Without going further, do you believe this?
>>
>>5791755
there are countless animal species that work together in groups and have social hierarchies that's not a unique thing for humans

>>5791755
you are incorrectly assuming that any sort of rude and cruel behavior can only ever be animalistic and thoughtless. warfare in general would probably fit everyone's bill of "rude and cruel", but it often takes the brightest minds and education in order to engage in warfare properly and intelligently. knowing how to properly "roast" someone and get at their insecurities, and banter with them, is at least somewhat of an intellectual pursuit since it takes ongoing thought dedicated to a person and what their insecurities are, how they think, their likes and dislikes. etc.

so no, the thing that separates us from the rest of the animals is just being able to go about things in an intelligent, thoughtful manner. some activity being nice or mean has no bearing on whether or not you can do it intelligently.
>>
>>5791771
none on the level that humans can, however

this tbh
>>
>>5791770
Well, I would say that a person is able to not believe in human rights, and also believe that its not good to kill other people.
After all, people are more prosperous and stronger in larger groups, always. And in such, killing a person will largely be a negative impact on the society you live in, thus negatively impacting you.

And then, is a human being being tortured to death worse than a person living a happy life? Well, going in the same vein, torturing humans to death will just anger other humans and probably make them want to kill you in the name of justice. Not to mention torturing someone still makes them unable to contribute to the society you are a part of, this in turn negatively affecting you as well.

but really tho, dropping all this removed intellectual talk. to be frank. i'm not such an edgefig that I'm all "lolz just torture and gas every1"
>>
>>5791792
These are skirting the issue. I do not want to hear about how killing someone might have an effect on the society at large, in fact if we remove the importance of the individual then to whom does a prosperous or strong society benefit? Moral axioms above the individual are valid, as you can choose any you want, but they will always seem particularly arbitrary, given that the magic of consciousness appears to deserve special protection, if anything does, and the structure of society is not inherently special and only becomes special by virtue of our being a part of it.
If you want to start your axioms with society and forget the individual then that is fine, but I don't think that I can reasonably try to discuss much because we hold axioms that are irreparably different from each other.
