Is this suppose to be bad? Like I never watched any weaboo garbage

Without watching the anime it was a decent movie. Acting was alright, story was good but fast, music was awful. Coming from someone who isn't a big anime person, the anime was one of the best shows I've ever seen. The story blows the movie's out of the water completely, the music is amazing, and the english voice acting is really good. One thing I can give to the movie is that they made Ryuk more creepy rather than comic relief, which makes sense since a movie doesn't need as much. If you like the general premise of the movie, you'd most likely love the show. Reason people hated the movie is only because they expected it to be as good as the original, which movie adaptations of anything very rarely are. I'm glad for this one they made it a much different story. In fact the characters act so different it would have been better if they had changed their names, since Light in the show was an absolute genius, L was super pale and also never went out in public, and Misa was just completely different.

I can tell that there are a lot of fun storylines that they are just blazing thru because they have to get it all done real quick to make it fit into a movie, my only problem is they made that guy black. I've never seen the show but I know that guy isn't black and it feels forced like "wow look at how progressive we are one of the main character guys are black now" for no reason

Ryuk was a lot better in the movie. The characters were way different in personality though. Light is kid of a pussy, and the only thing was even close to what Light was like throughout the entire anime was his little plan at the end of the movie. L was completely off and way out of character, and one of the best parts of the show was L and Light working together. Mia and Miss were nothing alike, and the love story they threw in for whatever reason wasn't needed at all.

Honestly if they just had Mia with the death note, it would have been a lot better. She was way more ruthless and clever than light was
